This Public.com chart belongs to the retired QQQ options desk. Its stopped account history remains visible for transparency; it is not Tide, not current performance, and not an active subscriber-routing claim.

How the original system worked.

A preserved walkthrough of the account, its track record, and the routing model built around it.

The wrapper question

Why we recommend Roth (and why cash works too).

01 — The tax math is real

A high-turnover options strategy run inside a taxable brokerage produces a short-term capital gain on every winning trade in the year it closes. The desk closes north of two hundred trades a year. Each one is taxed at ordinary-income rates, and the bill is owed in April whether you withdrew the money or not. The tax line item compounds against the strategy.

02 — The wrapper matters more for us

A passive index strategy doesn't care much about wrapper choice — turnover is near zero. A high-turnover options strategy is the worst-case profile in a taxable account, and the best-case profile in a Roth. The same fills, in the same broker, in two different wrappers, produce dramatically different lifetime outcomes. The wrapper choice matters more for us than for almost anyone.

03 — The cash side funds the Roth side

The desk runs cash today by design. The plan: let market gains fund the annual Roth contribution, so the wrapper gets paid for out of the strategy itself — not from a paycheck. If you're starting in cash too — MAGI phase-out, you prefer the flexibility, you already maxxed Roth elsewhere — running the strategy in a regular cash brokerage is fully supported. You eat the tax line item until the wrapper opens up. Both wrappers are first-class on the desk.

The math is the math. We built a calculator so you can run yours.

Run the math

Not tax advice. Talk to a tax professional about your specific situation, especially if you hold QQQ in both an IRA and a taxable account.

Operational reality

What's running, and what stops it.

The desk is autonomous. That's the feature. Here's what keeps it honest.

Autonomous

The desk runs itself.

Scanner cold-starts at 09:25 ET, range collected 09:30–09:45, entries fire after the admission filters pass, exits run on a two-stage protected-market ladder, and every position is flat by 14:45 ET. The founder went hands-off on 2026-04-14.

Defense in depth

What protects the book.

A 09:15 ET watchdog self-heals the scanner before the open. A daily loss lock cuts at −$200. A one-contract hard cap on every fill. One-shot direction lockout per ticker per day. The SnapTrade copier gates paper-versus-live before any subscriber order leaves the building.

Kill switches

What stops everything.

A SCANNER_DISABLED env on the copier. The desk refuses to place a market order if a cancel doesn't confirm. Subscribers can pause, modify their max contracts, or disconnect their brokerage at any time, from their own dashboard. No phone call, no waiting period.
